How do you choose your toothpaste? Do you choose what is on sale? Do you choose based on advertising or the benefits described on the tube?
So many claims – even within the same brand, there can be 4 or 5 versions of the same paste. Is there any difference between them? And is there any difference between a dollar tube at the dollar store and a 10 dollar tube at a boutique?
One thing that you can be sure of –
If it has the “ADA” seal on it, then the claims made on the packaging have been accepted by the American Dental Association as accurate.
What this means is that if you are interested in a “whitening” paste, or one that is for “sensitive teeth,” make sure that it’s got that seal on it – your best bet for a quality product. If two pastes both claim to be “whitening” pastes, one is 3 dollars and the other is 12, you can be assured that both claims have been verified by the ADA as accurate.
If you drop by my dental office in the Chesterfield Valley, I can help you personally with some paste recommendations based on your oral history.
And remember – if you are interested in whitening your teeth, as my patient, you qualify for free whitening with each visit. Just call to set your appointment. (636) 449-0215
