Cold or Flu? Replace your Toothbrush!

It’s cold and flu season here in St. Louis. As your dentist, I feel it’s important to tell you that if you have had a cold or the flu, you should replace your toothbrush and get a new one. Microbes can stick around in those bristles and can create re-infections.

Have a few extra brushes on hand and keep them sealed up. When a member of the family gets a cold or the flu, replace their toothbrush. It’s an easy way to keep your family as healthy as possible!

While we’re on the subject of bacteria, you may have heard that the same cause of plaque in the mouth can cause plaque in the arteries. This plaque can lead to heart attacks. Your oral health and the health of the rest of your body are so intimately related that it becomes clear that regular dental visits are a matter of not just improving your smile, but improving your longevity and quality of life as well.

At New Age Dental Care, we understand that many of the barriers that prevent someone from attending their dentist regularly include a fear of pain or of the dentist. This is why we offer the latestrelaxation dentistry techniques. We make your visit as painless and as stress-free as possible.

If it’s time for a visit, give me a call at (636) 449-0215. We’ll take good care of you.

Love,

Dr. Eugenia Kardaris, DDS
